I am a techie and am learning about marketing as best I can.  I was a marketer back in the 80s and did ok writing radio ads for other people.  I have (so far) never been very successful marketing my own projects.  For instance ... I have a book out, a textbook about computer security and penetration testing, and have talked at regional security events.  The book is available on Amazon and is probably the best thing on the market right now for people who want to get a strong hold on security, and how to protect themselves.  It is written for people with some experience managing computers, people who want to get their eCommerce Council Ethical Hacking Certificate, or 3rd year IT Students.   I am planning some security courses to go along with the book.  This is an area that ought to be pretty exciting these days.  

My wife and I are writing a book about how to have a lasting loving relationship, and we can feel there is a market for the work.  The book itself is almost finished, and we are thinking about how to get the buzz out in the marketplace.  This book and back-end is the sort of thing I would rather be doing, as my vision is having 40 or 50 sales sites with a fulfillment house handling orders.  Right now I am way strung out with work that has no immediate payout, and this cannot go on indefinitely.
