When you find affiliates you are able to leverage the time and effort of others. Your job is to make sure your product perfoms as well as possible. Affiliates will always be happy to promote for you if they make money.
If affiliates don't make money it will be hard to get them to continue promoting or promote on future projects.
So how can you make sure your affiliates stay happy.
- If possible test your product using PPC like Google Adwords before asking them to promote. You could run a campaign for a couple weeks from cold traffic and split test a salespage to see which one converts visitors into buyers better. Once you have a winner get a feel for how many visitors you will have to send in order to expect a sale. Affiliates like to know this infomation.
- Give them plenty of tools. The more you can do for an affiliate the more they will do for you. Banners, templates, etc are important to help build awareness for your product. Get up at least the essentials and add more when you can find the time.
- Give the Some training. If you know a thing or two about promoting products share your knowledge with your affiliates the better you can educate then on making sales the better off you'll both be.
The last step is to take action. Any of the tips above will help but it's the consistency that builds truly great businesses!
