How can you be successful?

This is a question that the entrepreneurial mind must always ask.

Success boils down to essentially one thing...

How you manage your time.

We all have the same amount of time in a day, and at the end of our day the day's time is spent.

It doesn't matter if you are a millionaire or a bum, we're equally rich in the amount of time available to us, but not all of us get the same amount of work/progress made.

Let's take a closer look.

Work and progress is made by taking action or leveraging the efforts of others to take action.

If I own a painting company and can paint 3 rooms per 8 hour day at $100 a piece that's $300 per day if I am consistent. But if I can pay someone else to paint those 3 rooms at $10 per hour and only spend 1 hour managing them my pay per hour just went from $37.50 per hour to $210 per hour.

Now if I add 7 more workers who require me to spend 1 hour per day to manage I can work 8 hours per day and make $1680!

Now of course this example is purely hypothetical and I have no idea what the average painting job actually charges but it illustrates a very valid point.

The activities you spend your time on pay you a return. A properly managed hour of "managing work" has the potential to pay out much higher that 1 hour of "labor work"

"Guilty By Association"

That's a term I've used for a while to describe the effect that being associated with people has.

Let me give you an example:

A young kid makes a friendship with another kid who's a gangster. Before long he is dressing in a similar fashion, talking in a similar fashion, thinking similar thoughts and finally acting out the same actions.

It's no wonder that people associate you with the company you keep.

The same can be said with positive influences, and generally this is what I'm referring to when I say "guilty by association".

Here are the steps association usually takes:

1. You begin to talk like a person
2. You may dress similar
3. You begin to think the same thoughts
   
4. You start having the same attitudes
5. You begin to act out similar actions
6. You share a similar lifestyle

This is the way it seems to go and it's almost impossible to avoid it.

If I still shared the same company I had through my years in high school and shortly after I would probably be in jail or dead. And in fact a few of my former friends ARE currently in jail because of the "choices" they made.

My point is your attitudes and lifestyle are directly influenced by your friends.

I'm not saying to leave your friends behind but simply suggesting that you seek out new relationships that can positively impact your future!

It may NOT always be true is prejudice but would you agree that most people judge you by the company you keep?

Today I got a late start, but I thought I'd share a few of the little things I did today that can really add up to big improvements and profits.

First I'll tell you what I did and then how it will help.

I got started helping out my wife with her natural cure site.

1. We put up a nice photo of her. This is important because it will help in boosting conversions. People like to know they are dealing with people online. Putting a picture of yourself on your salespages helps build rapport.
2. We read through the 2 salespages we are split testing. Split testing is essential to making more money with the same amount of traffic.
3. We made an FAQ list. I know when I visiti sites the "FAQ Page" is one of the first pages I will look at. The reason is it gives you the nuts and bolts of the product and usually indicates what problems/issues you might encount. For publishers this page is important to help disarm objections. If you don't have one consider putting one together. It also helps cut back on customer service issues.
4. I put squeeze pages on 2 sites I'm not currently developing. If you have some projects that are on hold while you focus on your current project it's never a bad idea to put up a squeeze page (lead capture form) to collect your visitors info. That way when they stumble across your page you don't lose them forever. I have a personal development page that is currently undevelopend but since simply putting up a squeeze page last week I've somehow managed to capture a total of 3 subscriber. At a rate of every other day I'll have almost 100 subscribers when I'm ready to launch in 6 months. It may not be much but they are 3 people who are highly interested in the topic I am going to be developing.

When you are ready to kiss your job goodbye and embark on the entrepreneurs journey many people are confronted with the question "What should I do?"

 I'd like to share a few tips with you that will help

First and foremost what are your passions?

Many people will discount this saying your passion can't give you a lucrative career. I disagree. Maybe not every single one of your passions will be a home run. But more than likely something you take an interest in is an interest shared by other people.

 The next step is to hit the forums. Many major markets online will have forums. Your job is to get in their and start talking and reading. Find out common problems that people in that niche are facing and start thinking about ways you could solve it.

Next become an expert.

This part despite what most people think is fairly easy and can happen in about a month. First do a search on Amazon.com and look for the top 5 reviewed books on your subject. Buy them all and read. By the time you are done you will know more than 80% of your market possibly more. That qualifies you as an expert.

I just got off the phone with a new mastermind group I'm a part of.

I can't tell you everything we discussed but I'd like to clarify for those of you who don't know just what a mastermind is and what purpose it serves.

The Mastermind Concept has been around since the beginning of time. It's most commonly used by entrepreneurs and politicians. Essentially what it is is a gathering of like-minded individuals for the pupose of unleashing creativity and growth for the members involved.

The reason this works so well is because "2 heads are always better than one". One of the fastest ways to grow your business or non-profit organization is by combining the thinking power of multiple individuls.

In business there is no room for pride.

Large organizations are built on the premise of collaboration and masterminds are one of the best ways to collaborate.

The structure for executing a mastermind meeting or session can vary depending on the members, the goals and a variety of other factors.

If there is one tip I could give the newbie marketer it would be to find 3-7 forums to become a part of and get involved daily.

 There is really nothing online that can put you in touch with the type of people you need in your mafia faster than getting involved in forums and connecting with people the right way.
